The Salmon are getting fat! Fishing remains good to very good! Picture from 6/24 fishing trip.  

We've been way too busy and forgot to post the reports. Fishing for Salmon has slowed down a bit from the end of May, but still remains good. The Lake Trout have picked back up and kept us plenty busy with Salmon mixed in! Here are a few pics from the past few trips. 

Fishing continued to be great over the weekend. It slowed a bit from Friday, but we managed to catch 33 coho, 2 steelhead, and 1 lake trout on Saturday between two trips. Sunday we landed 21 coho and 2 steelhead in two trips. Give us a call. We only have a couple days left open in June. Fishing should continue to be great! 

Fishing was on fire today out deep. It took an full day trip to get out to the fish, but the 1 hour ride each way was worth it. We got our Captain's limit and had a blast doing it!

Mother nature has kept us off the lake for a couple weekends, but we were able to get out on Friday for a morning trip and the fishing was very good. The lake trout were very hungry as we limited out in just under 2 hours for our 5 man group. 

Thank you to all of our guests on Why Knot this year for making it a successful fishing season! The fishing has slowed down dramatically over the past week and most likely will remain slow until December when the boat will be tucked away in her winter home. We will be opening up our 2016 fishing calendar over the next couple weeks. 2015 was a blast! We look forward to another great year on the water in 2016.  Here is a picture from the last fishing trip of the year 2 weeks ago. The weather kept us off Lake Michigan last weekend, but we will be back out this weekend. Fishing was great over Labor Day weekend and hopefully will continue through Halloween! We have limited availability in October. Give us a call to go fishing before the season is over! October can be a great time to fill the freezer with fillets!

Foggy day on the water! Fishing remains very good!  

Its been too long! Fishing has been good to very good over the past couple weeks. The steady SW winds the past week have brought colder water and bait fish in close to Chicago which has made for much better Salmon fishing than earlier this summer. We have been catching Steelhead, Coho Salmon, King Salmon, and Lake Trout all mixed together. Our only dates left open in August are the 26th, 30th, and 31st. Give us a call to get out on the water before summer is over!

I haven't been able to post every trip out, but they have all been very similar. Several big Lake Trout and a few jumping Steelhead mixed in. This Sunday's trip was no different. We had a blast hunting down the fish! We keep holding out for the King Salmon to show... Any day now!   

Lake Trout continue to make up the majority of our catch out of Chicago. The Kings have to show up sooner or later! We had a great time last weekend fishing a local tournament. We took 4th place out of 16 boats. We had the winning fish on, but couldn't land it! That's fishing for you! August dates are almost full. Give us a call soon to get out.  

Fishing continues to be great for Lake Trout out of Chicago. The salmon have been a little elusive the past week, but will show back up soon as the weather gets warmer!  

Fishing has been very reliable the past couple weeks out of Chicago! We caught 12 fish this morning in just under 4 hours. Our new friends from Houston did a great job keeping the jumping Steelhead from spitting the hooks. Can't wait till the Kings show up- that will be the icing on the cake!

Happy Fourth of July! Our summer dates are filling up quickly. We only have a couple Sunday and Monday trips left for July. Check out our calendar and give us a call to get the dates you want! Fishing for coho salmon earlier this week was very good. We caught 9 coho, 1 lake trout, and 1 brown trout over a short 4 hour trip. 

After fishing for a couple hours with no bites, we finally found a nice school of coho salmon to pick on. We fished 60-70fow 5 miles south of the city. The coho were hungry and filled the box quickly once we found them. The flat seas and comfortable weather made for a great day on the water! Book your trip soon. Dates are filling up and the fishing should continue to get better! 

We snuck out yesterday after a hectic week of delivering our first baby earlier in the week. The Salmon cooperated fishing the R4. We finished with 3 King Salmon, 6 Coho Salmon, and 4 Lake Trout. 

We were able to sneak out for a short trip this morning on Fathers day. The silver fish were a little elusive, but the Lake Trout kept us busy. Happy Fathers day to all the dads out there!

It was hard to keep the Lake Trout off the lines today! Fishing continues to be very good. The Salmon were not as hungry today, but we managed to catch a few. 

It was great to finally get back out again, as the weather kept us from fishing all last weekend. Fishing was great yesterday morning and a little slower in the afternoon, but we managed to get several nice fish on our afternoon outing. We fished the area around the Wreck in 70-85fow with best results on an East or West troll. Most bites came on spoons on 10 color leadcore and the down rigger SWR down 40-55. The kings are starting to show up in small numbers. We are really looking forward to see how the summer fishing pattern shapes up! Sorry, I forgot to take pictures- next time!

The fishing was tougher this morning, but we still managed 17 coho for our group from the Chicago area.
